Ends on a whimper.

Same as 2019.

Back in 2019, we limped out of the Summer league in Gateshead and did the same here.

Two positive performances and two negative ones meant we had one final one against a beatable team. However, as always, two players dropped and we were left with a bare 11 in searing heat. Positions were shifted and juggled about and the less said about this game, the better.

Michael Taylor fired in an equaliser after we conceded a poor early goal, but we struggled to grab the all important goal to take us ahead. Defensively it was a bit of a disaster, but we cobbled together a back line for it.

The eventual 5-1 defeat wasn’t surprising. We could have had a few goals beforehand, but Taylor hit the post and Keegan Humphries (making a start along with Lee Ramsay, Ben Wilson and Michael Brown) had a few good chances.

Cheers to the brave souls who turned up: Steve Brown, Lee Ramsay, Michael Brown, Michael Taylor, Keegan Humphries, Wayne Ramsay, Paul McConville, John Fraser, David Grundy, Ben Wilson.

I’ll compile full stats on the entry soon.

There we go. See you in the Winter.
