Using AI to make all the history consistent.

Over the past few weeks and over the next few months, we’ll be using AI (mainly Microsoft CoPilot) to unify all the stats and results we’ve kept since 1999. Stats tend to be available, but not consistent, so one might be a page of results, and another might be part of a match report.

Currently we have all the line ups, results, scorers, etc from the 6-a-side tournaments from 1999 to 2010. We then have results (but not line ups) from most of the tournaments from 2015 (Downhill’s last one) to Washington Leisure Centre (2016 to 2019) and then back at the new Downhill Hub (2020 to 2022), before settling back to Washington Leisure centre since 2023.

11-a-side results and line-ups are mostly complete, but fade off near the end. We’re using AI to analyse the reports to get the line-ups and scorers for the 11-a-side friendly games and Summer Leagues entry.

We’ll also have the comprehensive Overseas Tours data added.

The advantage of all this is that there will be one unified database for everything, so players can see their appearances, results, goals, etc. Might not be perfect, but close enough.

The examples of statistics would include the tournament or league, as well as dates, etc.

The line-ups will be interactive and players can be selected to show individual stats.

Player stats are mainly full for players who will have played for Sassco.co.uk, but anyone taking part in the 6-a-side Leagues from 1999 to 2010 are likely to have full stats from those tournaments.
