A win and a defeat in 9-a-side

Another competitive game v MADAS ended in a opening win for Sassco, while MADAS comfortable won the second game.

After the previous heavy defeat, it was decided to play two games to allow the older members of Sassco to get a breather.

  • Game #1 2:00pm – 25 mins each way – 50 mins total
  • Game #2 3:00pm – 25 mins each way – 50 mins total

It worked better for us, as the opening game was competitive. We raced into a two goal lead, with Paul McConville finishing off a Curtis Newbold shot, followed by Newbold scoring his opener. The goal was in dispute, but with no referee, they allowed it to stand. After this some poor decisions led to MADAS taking their opportunities. It was fairly even, with Davison making some impressive stops, before Curtis Newbold fired in his second goal to take the first game.

Second game saw us struggle overall. Curtis equalised from a MADAS opener, but then succumbed to errors in defence with MADAS taking advantage to add another three goals.

Overall it was a decent performance. Tiredness hit in the second game, but we did well in both games. Debuts for Lee Ditchburn, Ross Carty and Jon Lamberton.
